Members will be aware that Bunkers Hill is under new ownership and the new owners are in the process of purchasing land and fishing rights immediately below Chapel Hill.
We regret to inform members that the Committee have been unable to agree acceptable terms with the new owners to enable us to continue with the “walk through” facility at Bunkers Hill and appropriate signage will be in place by the 1 April.
In addition, the new owners are unable to grant PAA members access over the land immediately below Chapel Hill until all the legal formality associated with the purchase has been completed, and a formal lease is in place with the PAA.
Negotiations with the new owners are ongoing and on a positive note, agreement in principle has been reached with regard to the proposed rent payable by the PAA. However, until all matters have been formally concluded, the PAA committee apologises to members for what is hoped is a temporary withdrawal of fishing rights.
Every effort will be made to complete matters as soon as possible and members will be updated accordingly via our website and appropriate signage.
