What flies for fishing in mid May in Pembroke?
Heading over to Pembroke for some fishing from about the 16 May for a couple of weeks. I usually fish small rivers in Derbyshire, so am unsure what to use on the Cleddau. I fly fish, using dries wets and nymphs. So what can anyone suggest? Not inclined to night fish currently. I am happy to target trout. Do you have the mayfly on the Cleddau? I know the treffgarne gorge stretch better than other areas.
Thanks,

A couple of suggestions...

Our waters aren't reknowned for Mayfly hatches, although there are always a few about at this time of year. Personally, I tend to stick to traditional wet spider patterns - March Brown for example, and for the deeper pools I try to get down to the fish with a weighted GRHE.
But, of course, if you took a poll of our entire membership you'd have as many recommendations as there are members! As always, the best advice is to take a good look at the water and see what's going on on the day!
I do hope you enjoy your time with us - and would be delighted to read about your visit on our website...
